At 9:00 am until noon on October 13th, the day following the
SUMMER OF LOVE FESTIVAL at the BEACH CHALET SOCCER FIELDS in GOLDEN GATE PARK, PACK YOUR TRASH, SURFRIDER FOUNDATION, and THE COUNCIL for the SUMMER OF LOVE, are organizing a beach cleanup at the beach directly adjacent to the soccer fields. This will also include the portion of the Great Highway along that section of beach.Trash bags, made of recycled plastic, donated by the California Coastal Commission, will be distributed to volunteers at the beach that morning. Volunteers will be assigned the type of trash to collect: aluminum, glass, plastic or non-recyclables. Volunteers need to wear gloves and suitable clothing (i.e.. shoes, long pants, a cap, and sunscreen).
There will be a free raffle held at the beach, at 12:30 PM, immediately following the October 13th cleanup, with fabulous prizes generously donated by the bay area music industry (CD'S T-shirts, rock posters and much more). Raffle tickets and PACK YOUR TRASH stickers will be handed out along with the plastic bags to all participants. You must be present at the drawing to claim a prize. We are asking that volunteers sign up in advance by calling Bill Dawson at (510) 540-6814.
We thank you for the 'Trash Art'---> Mr. Jim Phillips
