Thanks to Country Joe McDonald (of Country Joe and the Fish), the traveling Vietnam Veteran's Memorial makes its debut in San Francisco. Two hundred and fifty feet long and 5 feet tall, this is a half-size replica of The Wall That Heals, Maya Lin's memorial located in Washington, D.C. This morning at sunrise, a group of former anti-war activists and Vietnam Veterans joined together at the reproduction to read the names of California's Vietnam war dead. In addition, the City of San Francisco has officially decided to heal it's Vietnam War wounds with the public exhibit of the official traveling model.
